EDITLOCK Terms of Service.
The agreement between you and Editlock for use of our video review and approval service. Please read it carefully.
1. Who we are
Editlock (“Editlock”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a video review, approval, and version-locking service operated by a sole proprietorship owned by Suvajit Sarkar, based in Bongaon, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India. The service is provided at app.editlock.io and this website at editlock.io.
2. Acceptance & eligibility
By creating an account, accessing, or using Editlock, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refunds & Cancellation Policy. If you are using Editlock on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Tell us promptly at founder@editlock.io if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. Reviewers and clients you invite act under the access you grant them, and you are responsible for whom you invite.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Editlock to store, share, or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the rights to; to attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the service or its security; to resell or provide the service to third parties except through the sharing and collaboration features we provide; or to use the service in a way that harms Editlock or other users. We may remove content or suspend access that breaches this section.
5. Your content & ownership
You keep ownership of everything you upload — your media, comments, and approvals. You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, process, store, and serve that content back to you and to the people you invite, so the service can function. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models. You are responsible for holding the rights and permissions needed for the content you upload and share.
6. Plans, billing & taxes
Paid plans are priced on storage, as set out on our Pricing page. Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) and are all-inclusive — the amount you see is the amount you pay. Editlock is not currently registered under GST, so no separate GST is charged or collected; if this changes as we grow, we will move to GST-compliant invoicing and notify you before it takes effect. Payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay; we do not store your full card or bank details. Monthly plans renew automatically until cancelled. Annual plans are billed as a single one-time payment (not an autopay mandate), with renewal reminders sent in advance. You can upgrade your plan at any time, effective immediately. A downgrade to a smaller monthly plan takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, so you keep what you have paid for until then. Because an annual plan is a one-time payment that does not auto-renew, an active annual plan cannot be switched down to a smaller plan or to monthly billing mid-term — you can upgrade it at any time, or simply choose a smaller plan when it expires. Storage is a hard cap: when you reach your plan's limit, new uploads pause until you free up space or upgrade — there is no metered overage billing.
7. Cancellation, refunds & data retention
You can cancel at any time. Our Refunds & Cancellation Policy sets out exactly what happens to your billing and your files — including the read-and-download window after cancellation, how monthly and annual refunds work, and the timeline before data is removed. That policy forms part of these Terms.
8. Service availability
We work to keep Editlock available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may carry out maintenance, updates, or changes to features, and we may occasionally have downtime outside our control. We are not liable for interruptions that are beyond our reasonable control.
9. Intellectual property
The Editlock name, logo, software, and website are our intellectual property or that of our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you, and your content does not transfer any ownership to us beyond the licence in section 5.
10. Suspension & termination
You may stop using Editlock and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or other users — where practical, with notice and an opportunity to fix the issue. On termination, the data-retention windows in our Refunds & Cancellation Policy apply.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Editlock is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded under applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to Editlock in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data or profits, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of critical content.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Editlock harmless from claims, damages, and costs arising out of content you upload or share, or out of your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the app. Continuing to use Editlock after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, India.
